How Letting Go Can Help You Get What You Want - Part Two of Three
You might have heard, more important than a positive mind is a quiet mind. Well, this definitely applies to resolution setting. Many people miss the step of quieting the mind when setting resolutions.
But, before we go there, let’s jump back to step one for a second.
In the last blog, we looked at the importance of taking an honest inventory of the past year. I had you evaluate what went well, what big steps you took, what didn’t go so well, and what life lessons you’re carrying with you into 2021. This way, you can have a simple list of what to do more of, and what you need to STOP doing. If you didn’t do this step, you’re likely to repeat the past. So make sure to check it out here.
The next step is to get real quiet. Like I mean, slow everything down. If you’re living life at warp speed, you’re more likely to make goals and resolutions based on what you think you “should” be doing. Or, based on what someone else wants you to do. Or, based on what your EGO THINKS will bring you happiness, praise, satisfaction, acknowledgment, or love.
When you get quiet, your intuition speaks to you. Your gut will tell you what is truly important for your personal growth. As my Spiritual Life Coach guru teacher used to say, silence is essential for the divine evolution of your soul.
Only when you quiet the mind, body, and emotions, then you can hear the soft whisper of your soul. This is about making space. Releasing all the chatter. Letting go of the noise. Only in the stillness, can your true desires come forth.
Have you ever gone shopping and when you got home there were no empty hangers for your new clothes? You have to let go of the old to make space for the new.
You need to release old ideas, beliefs, feelings, and opinions in order to clear space for new ideas, inspirations, thoughts, and patterns to take hold.
How do you do this you ask?
